So I've owned my Dubarry boots since about April this year and they've hardly left my feet since. The trouble is since the bad weather came I've noticed my right toe is getting rather wet.

Does anyone know whether they're likely to replace them if I contact them directly or will I need to go through the company I bought them from?

They are supposed to have a life time guarantee, so they should change them. I would ask the supplier first, but they will probably ask you to deal direct. Let us know how you get on please.

Id be surprised if they replaced them if they've (as you've said) been worn a lot since april- But you could always ring them directly and see what they say?

Definitely get in touch. But, if you've been wearing them to muck out stables, getting piss in the stitching you might not get much sympathy as that apparently rots stitching.

But surely this is the very point. People who buy Dubarrys often have horses and rinse the boots after mucking out etc and take care of them. At their prices, why wouldn't you? The lifetime guarantee doesn't exclude people wearing them when dealing with their horses, and heaven forbid, actually wearing them every day!!

I totally get your point saneta, they are bloody expensive boots to be letting lots of water in after 9 months! But I doubt their 'lifetime guarantee' is all encompassing. I do clean mine- but no where near as often as I should. I don't know anyone that rinses them off after mucking out or cleans them regularly- life is just too busy!

Just to add horse is kept out year round so no mucking out and boots are rinsed every day (I wear them to the office most days) and thoroughly cleaned monthly. I'm not holding out much hope they'll replace them but will get in touch and see what they say.

Hi GG2B

I had this problem with a pair of Dubarrys I contacted the people I bought the boots from and they send the boots off to Dubarry for me. Dubarry tested them and deemed them "leaky" and sent out a replacement pair no other questions asked.

I was really pleased with their service I think I had the new pair within three weeks of sending the original ones out!

Mine had not been used for mucking out either just country walks and seeing to the horses in the field, I think mine were about 9 months old at the time too.

It's worth a phone call if nothing else. If the company you bought them from don't want to help call Dubarry directly.

Good luck!

I returned mine to my local saddler after just over a year , the soles where falling apart .
I had worn them almost everyday but cleaned them using the dubarry range of stuff about three times a week .
I took them in to the saddler Looking well worn but well cleaned The saddler returned them to dubarry who within days sent him a credit note to get me a new pair .
I would got back to the shop you bought them from.
