My daughter went to tack T up last night. As soon as she went in his stable he turned his back on her and threatened to kick.
I went in and he did the same. I went with the treat route. I took the reins and martingale off the bridle so i didnt have to get them over his neck. Every time he was good and came towards me he got a treat. I eventually got the bridle on him but he wasn't happy with the bit.
The equine dentist had done his teeth the day before (Thursday) and dd had ridden him on Thursday night with no problems. He is ridden in a Dr Bristol with full cheek bit(that he came with) but I think the link is still turning which is obviously being very severe in his mouth.
I've got a hanging cheek snaffle with a French link to try today so hopefully he'll be a little more receptive to a kinder bit.
In my nievety (sp?) I just thought it was because his teeth hasn't been done for a long time before we bought him (6weeks ago) that he was playing with the bit but now realise it was too severe for his mouth
