i have always used non-leather event boots ie NEW event boots which i quite like although i know they must soak up rather alot of water, other than that they seem quite good. I wondered how effective leather event boots are,i alwasy thought they would not support the leg enough , now i am considering buying some for Ru but just wondering what you all thought!? any opinions?

I really rate my Sabre leather event boots - pricey but hava had them for 3 years and still as good as new and they have saved my girls from many a knock. I think they are supportive, and touch wood, have had no sprains / strains or anything. The first time I used them we misjudged a hanging log and horse came down on top of it with an almighty whack - not even a mark on her legs although a scuff to the boot. She didn't even bruise, and that for me was conformation enough that I'd bought the right ones!
