so she is going to bring some Thorowgood and Wintec synthetic ones to try out.

Am going to get some new stirrup leathers as mine are old but I'm sure I read somewhere that there is one way round you're not suppossed to have it as it wears the saddle ........... is it leather on synthetic or synthetic on leather ?

Leather will mark your synthetic saddle, Keiffer do a really good pair or synthetic stirrup leather, leather look and really soft.

I have the new slimline Wintec leathers on my Wintec CC saddle and they aren't bulky at all, infact, I'd probably say that they are less bulky than real leather ones too. They did squeak a bit at first though but now that the new finish has worn off, they are fine. I've had them a year and they are still going strong.

I found normal synthetic leathers on synthetic saddles squeaked like mad! I have leather on my synthetic GP and single-thickness synthetic on my synthetic dressage saddle (but currently use these on anything I sit on, usually leather saddles).

You should always keep leather with leather and synthetic with synthetic. You may end up with a badly marked saddle otherwise.
