Hi all, i won a pair of Treadstone Long leather riding boots on ebay recently. They arrived but they come up so tight around the Calf 13in (they've only been worn a few tims) so im sure they will sretch (thats what im hoping) Anyone else have the same prob, will they loosen? and also what keeps them in good condition, i dont want to ruin them by scrubbing them with the hose each time!

I have Treadstone's & they can be tight. They do stretch with wear though (mine did, I had to buy the childs ones as I'm only a size 2)

I just give mine a weekly going over with saddle soap & a little bit of neatsfoot oil every few months or so.

I know! It took me ages to find a long leather pair of riding boots in that small a size!

I didn't want gaiters & boots so Treadstone will have my undying gratitude

PS - I find the soft saddle soap, the one that comes in a tub, works best (don't know why but it seems to do them a lot of good)

Also long leather riding boots that have not yet panned in, will drop slightly in the ankle once you start riding in them, so depending on wear exactly on your calf the tightness is, they may slacken or become tighter. Be careful not to force the zip, wearing tight things on your legs is bad for you and I'm sure you can always flog them again, but I'm sure they'll be ok. Also water retention/time of the month can sometimes make you think their too tight but after a few days there fine again.

Gosh I'm really reading into this way too much......I need to get a life!
