Lecture/demos

Emile Faurie is always fantastic and very realistic. He knows that not everyone has a future olympic horse so always gives you lots of exercises to try out at home

Anky is also excellent but I saw her in Holland....when I lived there so it was also in Dutch. It was excellent too. One of the things she did best was with Edward Gal in Gribaldi...they did tempi changes along the diagonal then she asked him to do it again with making an adjustment in the bridle (she wanted to show people how Gribaldi would probably make a mistake if Edward interupped him too much) and low and behold he made a mistake.

She said "Goed zo" (welldone) Gribaldi, they went back and did it again perfectly!

I saw Reine Klimke too and he was brilliant. Very clear in getting his points across. I was mesmerised the whole time. Scary thing was that my old trainer was there and she was a very good friend of his. She was chatting to him all the time. Dreaded my next session with her in case she expected miracles!!!

my list of good lectures/demos/clinics I have been to would include:

John Lasseter
Richard Maxwell
George Morris (instructors conf)
Stephen Clarke (v recent instructors conference)

but also

Leslie Desmond
Peggy Cummings
Mark Rashid
Pat Parelli

But there are also unsung heros: our local vet surgery runs lectures every so often - they have all been useful (equine behaviour, worming, breeding etc)

I think I've blanked the dreadful ones from my memory !
