Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has used LED floodlights for their arena? I've got PP and am about to buy lights to go onto telegraph poles - I'm not sure whether the LED ones will be worth the extra money? Although apparently the cabling doesn't need to be so heavy duty as the wattage is lower...
I have no idea about electrics and will be getting professional help (!) but would appreciate any experiences of LED if you have them.
Thanks
BM

The floodlights Ive seen on eBay that were LED would not be anywhere near powerful enough in terms of equivalent to a metal halide light (500w + x 6 or 8 ) thats normally used. (Sodium lights are also available but horses can apparently struggle to see very well in the light they cast).

I would def speak to the electrician tho.

I have!

We have put ours up this winter and they are fab. We bought the bright white LED floodlights from internet and run them from a 12v leisure battery via an inverter using 240v cabling as don't have mains electric. There's just 4 (I think they are 50/70w) and not placed too high, we used scaffold poles, but they are bright enough to use for lessons, schooling, pole work and even had saddle fitter test rides with them.
