Anyone done it? How big is the biggest hedge?
I am planning on doing it, but want to know what madness i am getting myself in for... i cannot wait LOL..

hi, my brother was supposed to do it last year/two years ago, but horse went lame 2 days before, and mum was supposed to be doing it on that horse this year, but horse has screwed his mouth up so may not make it.
i was supposed to be in a NHH team with her and someone, but don't have a horse to do it.

basically, it's not that bad. they arn't horrifically big, and after the first few horses have gone through the hedges are full of holes.
BUT there are bigish ones, and some big ditches, and what really catches people out are some very big upright, but nice and solid rails right at the end of the course. (4ft ish)

basically, it causes issues because its fast, wet, and a lot of horses going in many directions.

If you have a bold horse and are competant hunting etc, you should be fine

i would do it, if someone gave me a sane horse to do it on!

edited to say, you and your horse need ot be increadibly fit. as its a long way to gallop and deep and wet.
especially hard for both you and the horse if you're not used to racing/pointing, only hunting.

HAVE FUN.

Thanks,
obviously he would be SUPER fit, hence why im not doing it this year as hes had a cough and i think it would be too much of a push to get him at a standard i would want him at.
Im not used to racing etc. but im not going to do it to win, we have team chased a fair amount and hes good at it, so i am just going to go round for the hell of it LOL.
Is it a team thing? i saw that there was a team chase over the course after it, but wasn't aware it was a team event...?

ah few... on the vid. i saw some people who hunt with us (red and yellow colours) and theor horses have team chased and are not the racing type, but got round... i shall take a few tips from them!
do you know of any other hunt racers similar to this one?
only thing im concerned with is as hes fitter he gets stronger and stronger and will race the others.. but i geuss thats no bad thing?!
