We are delighted that Lee Pearson, paralympic dressage rider and patron of EST and Nicola Wheeler aka Nicola King from Emmerdale are both attending EST Leeds Donkey Summer Fair on Sunday 10 July. For those that don't know, EST is a charity providing donkey riding therapy to children with special needs and disabilities. Approximately 600 children benefit from this service every month. We don't charge for riding therapy and rely entirely on charitable donations to allow us to run the Centre. The Summer Fair is our biggest fundraising event of the year and hope that Lee and Nicola will help draw in the crowds and make the Fair our most successful yet. http://bit.ly/jdkpv7
Please come along if you can, and follow EST Leeds on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks everyone!!

Wow, sounds like a wonderful event for an extremely worthwhile and rewarding charity. Too far from me sadly, but I wish you a very successful day.:)

really good news!!!!hadn't heard of this event before, we have a donkey and its amazing how they can 'tune in to people', he is a little beggar sometimes but great with kids etc.such a worthwilr charity-good luck.

Thanks Cumbriamax. We have 22 donkeys at EST Leeds and they are all delightful. We also run an Outreach Service where our donkeys visit carehomes, hospices and schools. Our donkeys generally meet the residents in the communal lounges or if the bedrooms are on ground level with good enough access, they'll visit residents in their beds too!

Thanks blazingsaddles! Lots more hard work to do before the event but hopefully we should have a great day with the sun shining down :)

That's not too far from Sunny Stockport - I think we'll be bringing the children!

I won't bring the neddy as donkeys scare the bejesus out of him, he probably thinks they'll ask for their ears back............. :D :D :D

Look forward to seeing you Geraldine. My horse met the donkeys for the first time on Sunday and can safely say he won't be going back - absolutely terrified! It's a shame - the donkeys loved him!
