What an amazing horseman he is. Three paraolympics, gold in everything he's entered, on three different horses.

Lee, we bow down to you!!!! You are simply the best.

And he is a nice guy, well I think he is. I met him at unaffiliated dressage at Beaverhall, was talking to him re his dogs and he was so friendly. Was having a nervous day as horses first outing so wittering on, he must of thought I was a right numpty.

I agree that he is oviously a good horseman - but have to wonder why I just can't like the guy - every time I see him interviewed he seems to irritate the hell out of me! Apologies to all L.P. fans!!

Funny you should say that, I can't get to like him either, but you cannot take away the talent he has, it is amazing to watch people like him ride, puts everything into perspective

He came to our yard years ago during an afffiliated comp - was helping out another rider I think. At that time we had a livery who was lovely but could talk and bore for England. He dragged poor Lee off to look at his horse and after half an hour of talking at him asked Lee if he rode at all. Ummmmmm - just a little.

Lee didn't say a word........

Really? I feel the opposite; every interview I have seen he seems so humble and so passionate about his sport, his fellow competitors, and of course his horses.

Amazing what he can do with a horse, completely amazing.

So pleased to see him do well, he is an inspiration!

i watched lee do a dressage to music on blue circle boy at rodbaston college.
he is a total inspiration he is sooo talented. ( I was choking back the tears just watching him)
he came second and still for all his success etc he found the lady that beat him and congratulated her !!!
he's both talented and humble a rarity these days .

Well done at the olympics !!!!

Lee is indeed an inspiration to all. I have never met a more normal, down to earth person in my life. His dressage displays on Gus (Blue Circle Boy) are magic to watch.

I have promised him that if I ever breed a 'Gus' from my stallion, he will be the first to be offered the ride. The likeness of the two horses is amazing!!!! We have even considered putting a banner on the horse box for show, saying "this is not Blue Circle Boy" as the crowds around the horse box are all expecting Lee to pop out

We are hoping that my boy will progress quickly in his training, so that he can do some displays with Lee and Gus.

Lee is delightful! I've only met him the once when he was competing on Gus at college when I was a student (so pre-Olympics). I was enchanted by Gus and Lee was hillarious and VERY rude about Berry

He can't help being a sausage horse!!! Though he did agree that he has good paces - for a sausage horse hahaaa.

Cruiseline - you chap and Gus would be awesome in a Pas de Deux

He sometimes posts on SU, always comes across as nice, and when he was asked to sign some calendars for charity/emw, he agreed immediately.

I like him.

Mmm - I have to wonder why anyone needs to say this on a thread that is paying tribute to an outstanding horseman who has battled against a SEVERE disability to get to a level that most able-bodied riders can't even aspire to.

Such a petty comment - and do we CARE that you don't like him.

Lee has given disabled people an ENORMOUS boost by proving that a disability doesn't have to be a handicap - for that alone he deserves a knighthood!! As do his team mates - between them they brought home 5 gold and 5 silver medals!

Well said!!!!

Sometime the comments on this forum are just astonishing, it is amazing how some people can judge a person that they have never even met.

Lee said on tele the other night that he'd rather be 'Dame' Lee.

He's a wonderful guy and did a mean pole dance round umbrella stands at the after comp party in Athens.....

C'mon admit it, it's a class thing.

You don't like someone with a common, northern accent being brilliant at a middle-class sport.

Just imagine him sounding like Hugh Grant, then you'll appreciate him...

We live quite close to Lee he is a lovely person with a great sense of humour, he has been helping with my horse and has been more help and more interested than any able bodied instructor i have tried. Once you have spent 5 minutes with him you don't even notice his disability as he has such a great personality. I think it is unfair you should make such comments on someone you don't know!
