My youngster (15 months) is coming to the end of two weeks box rest after cutting his fetlock. It should have been a simple cut but the little b****r kept nibbling at it! I assume it was itchy but it resulted in an infection and various vet visits etc. So after having it bandaged for two weeks it's looking really good and I'm starting to consider putting him back out. It has healed over nicely but still bald and very pink so I want to keep it covered somehow to stop him nibbling at it. If I put him out bandaged he just eats the bandage and it ends up like nora battys stockings so I was thinking a small dressing and boots of some sort. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do the turnout chaps work? Will they stay in place on an enthusiastic baby mostly TB? He has the skinniest legs I've ever seen!
