Have posted this in veterinary too, but more people look in here & need some advice. At the beginning of April Kizzy twisted her fetlock & strained her tendon sheath, she was very lame & it was really swollen, she went to a rehab yard for a month, had loads of cold therapy, bowen & magnetic therapy as well as cortisone & HA into the tendon sheath after it had been scanned, the scan was clear. Had another weeks box rest, then 3 weeks walk, 3 weeks trot, 3 weeks canter, then started juping small stuff on a surface at the end of June. Vet looked at her, said she was sound, carry on, just left with a small windgall type swelling. Had a dressage lesson 3 weeks ago, worked on half pass & shoulder in, prior to the lesson she felt soft, light & even in both reins, trainer agreed. Next time I rode she was really against my hand, had a sj lesson & sorted it, but wasn't as nice as she had been. Leg filled a bit more in the recent hot weather, but continued work as sound, & swelling reduced after work, iced sometimes & used pulse magnetic boot. Had another dressage lesson tonight, trainer says right hip is higher as she is tipping the saddle left & she lacks right lateral flexion, felt better as the lesson went on, stride is level behind though. Rang sports massage therapist, he says one hip higher is a technical lameness, now panicing a bit as have some competitions coming up & don't know what to do, did we overdo the last dressage lesson? She has been happy to do what is asked, jumping fab & have been trying to build fitness without overstraining the leg, but defo something changed after last lesson. Well done if you got this far, just need advice.
