Good luck finding somewhere. i know what its like to be desperate to help out with horses - any horses - and i am SO lucky with the Moose.

Do the children really have to come with you? And just how many toddlers are you talking about? My daughter is 5, so hardly a toddler any more, and i think even she is a liability round the yard, even though she is quite sensible. Surely with 2 toddlers you would be having to keep an eye on them as much as you would be working with the horses. What if you were in the middle of turning out, and one of the children decided to head for the driveway, or tried to get into a stable? Worse, what if one of the children got kicked and hurt while they were on the yard? Could you just abandon the horses to take the child to hospital?

I know lots of people do bring their own toddlers onto their own yards, but its different when its someone else's children. Babies are relatively easy, you can park a pushchair anywhere, even arena-side, and i think they quite like watching the horses. Older children are fine, give them a broom or some tack-cleaning stuff and leave them to get on with it. Toddlers, though, are a nightmare when you are trying to do something else, because they need close supervision and are into everything.

Good luck finding somewhere though - maybe another mum with young children and horses might like having someone to share horsy chores and baby-sitting or something. Maybe you could put notices up at your baby clinic or toddler group as well as the usual tack shop / feed shop / yards, etc.

Jumpthemoon- havent aasked her yet will text her later today!!! How are you?

Moose, i shared a horse last year and the twins were great round the yard, kept out of peoples way, i didnt bring them down at weekends or eves just during hte day when itwas quiet. They stayed in the car while i turned out brought in as i didnt want to risk them being kicked! they are two and a half now!!!

Ive thought about it alot!
