Leicestershire people??!! Any scope for me??

I was just wondering if there's any scope for a uni student in the leicestershire/loughborough area to find horses to exercise/share/compete? I dont mean people on here, just I have no idea what the siutation (horse wise) is like over there any more. I'm weighing up my options. If I move back to the UK, I can't afford my own horse, but I would like to carry on riding and competing.

I tried searching the horse sites, but didn't find much. Would I have more luck just looking locally at tack shops and in newspapers and stuff if i went back?

Just to give you a better idea: i'm a confident rider, dressage and SJ. I'd ride horses on the flat and over fences to improve schooling or just to keep them exercised. Basically do whatever was asked of me.
I'm used to greenies and youngsters (schooled two ex-racers of my own plus helped out with various other horses/ponies that are green or naughty). I also enjoy and would be happy to work with any difficult horses and ponies(buckers/rearers/bolters/whatever) or ex-racers.

Basically, is there any decent horses people know of for share? Or are there people around that area wanting help with their horses perhaps? I'd be happy to contribute financially towards a share, but not to school/exercise for other people.

I just would like to have an idea of whether i'd be able to get any riding in if I went back.

Hi - I live near that part of the world - and there are lots of horses - racers, eventers,sj, dressage etc. It will really depend on where exactly you live but I wouldn't imagine it would be to hard to find something for you to ride - certainly always lots of ads for sharers etc in the tack shops.

Yeah, i've seen a lot of horses around here that someone's looking to share or have re-schooled. Don't know how many there are in comparison to other areas but there doesn't seem to be a shortage and there's definitely a lot of horsey people here

Haha, like I said..I literally have no idea what the situation is over there any more. Its nice to know if I decide to come back I could keep my riding up to scratch and just compete my horse when I'm back here (which actually...is quite a lot, considering the uni terms. And the fact that horses here need 2 months off a year for AHS anyway).

I'm glad..was struggling to find anything on the net, was getting me a little worried
