I've just been looking through the passport that came with my cob from Ireland.
On one of the pages it says this animal is intended for slaughter for human consumption. Is that a normal thing for their passports to say or was he actually intended to be on his way into the food chain? The passport was only issued a month or so before he came to England.

Also this is the only info for where he came from or at least where he was when the passport was issued, has anyone heard of them? I found an email for them but no one ever got back to me.

I have no problem with my lovely cob, I'm just nosey and would like to know where he came from.

Tony Irishcobs. My lad was bred by him (my profile picture).

I tried a Dromalga cob but didn't buy him - they are big cob dealers in Ireland. There is a dealer in Glos who buys from them. All passports will have that section in them.

Thanks everyone, I never really took much notice on my other ponies passports and didn't look for that line in them. Happy to know it's just a standard thing and he wasn't about to enter the food chain, he's too lovely for that to happen to him!

I tried contacting them on fb through the tony irishcobs page and email but never heard heard back and didnt want to harass them for no reason other than me being nosey. I just assumed that my cob was one they got in and sold on again and they probably don't remember him. There's no info on his breeding in the passport so guessing they didn't breed him there.

@DressageCob your lad is gorgeous!

Did you buy him in the UK or Ireland?
