We finally made a desicion on the breed and have visited 2 breeders to meet puppies, parents and grandparents to see how the dogs age and behave.
But, I want more people experience of the breed. We might be moving so until we know we wont buy- but we will deffo have a big garden as I love space/gardening etc and like rural areas. My partner likes MTB and jogging- are they active dogs? My partner will be able to take dog with him 1 or 2 days a week when hes on site inspection. Other days it will have to be left for 6 /7 hours a day tue to thurs alone but only for 9 months of the year (im a teacher so will be at home for 13 weeks of the year) a dog walker will be employed for an hour a day for company and 30min walk on the tue/wed thur. But we were wondering if a kennel in garden or in the house is better when we are not there. One of us will take time off work for 1st two weeks for intigration.

Are they noisy? what is the ease of training like. I have owner GSD which were easy to train and my Bf has had Spaniels (nightmare to train/cant be left alone for more than hour or so) so we opted for a calmer breed.

Any experience good or bad required!

I love them! I don't personally own one but i help a lady who shows them and stay there when she goes away to look after them, and there are 3! One thing you'll have to be prepared for is there size, bitches are smaller then dogs. As there are 3 they can get a bit noisy as they egg each other on but on their own i think they'd be fine. I would say they are relativly easy to train and although they can be active you have to remember how much coat they have so they do get hot faster than other dogs. I'm a relatrivly slim person and can jog with one quite happily and they're relatively obedient. They are fine to be left alone and i would recomened leaving them shut in the kitchen as when they drink they can get a bit messy so at least it's easy to clean up but if you leave in outdoor kennel there's a chance the dog could bark at passers by etc.

Definatly a breed to have! Have been to many dog shows including Crufts where there are loads of them and they're always really well behaved.

Friend of mine has one.
They say he is not an overly active dog, not really made for high speed apparently. He enjoys walking but a pootle not a run. He requires lots of grooming, and as with all big dogs his hips are a constant source of worry. He's examplary in his behaviour and sits quietly while they chat to passers by.

I have had one and they are super super friendly easy going dogs. Personally I am a German Shepherd fan but as an easy going family dog they are lovely lovely dogs. Not the fastest in the world, very food orientated and will sell their soul for food, love kids... very like a Labrador in most ways. Do be careful where you buy and check hips and eyes. I'd have another one :-)
