Little Coblet is embarrassed by her hat. She has beautiful big ears but her headwear makes her look silly and she'd rather not go out like that. (OK, I will admit, they also ruin my 'Through the Ears' shots!)

Anyone found any tasteful hi viz ones without breaking the bank?
Unencumbered ears for comparison.

I got a couple of things from there. I liked the browband, and wore it through winter. The horse legbands were disappointing - one died after its first hack (admittedly quite a wet hack, but they all are in winter) and the other just wasn't as bright as the browband.

I haven't been able to get any hi-viz ears to stay put, so I use the V-Bandz velcro browband and noseband covers. My horse is hogged so the browband's nicely visible, but it might be hidden on a horse with a forelock!

(I'd like to point out that the day wasn't as sepia-toned as this photo suggests. It was just that we had so much orange hi-viz that it threw off the colour balance on the camera!)

Have you see the new Weatherbeata ears, black with two reflective stripes across the front and pink or yellow binding.
Ahh, now that does sound promising (the tangerine LeMieux seem to be discontinued and oos in L). I'm not sure my middle aged tastes can cope with the Ombre, although I will guiltily admit to quite liking some of them! Wbeeta not usually a silly price either (for something that will get 'stolen' by passing trees/brambles)

Can't help you with the hi-viz but she is beautifully elegant!

I know what you mean about the Ombre! The ears are only £13. I think they look really smart.

I have a delightfully colourful Rainbow ombre saddlecloth and ears... I haven't actually used it yet, because Blue looks far too scruffy to wear a nice new matchy-matchy set, but as soon as she's in her summer coat, we're going bright and cheery.

I have bright orange ears - well for the horse not personally. They aren't specifically hi viz as I really struggled to find any that weren't a plastic type which I thought might be hot or uncomfortable (not plastic but more like that than cotton). I trawled all the stands at Badminton a few years back and eventually found some cotton bright orange ones in a little stand in the craft area of all places. I do like those ones in the Hope Valley link but MUST NOT BE TEMPTED. Just checked and they only have the lime green not the orange so no purchase made!

Mads has orange hi vis ears and she's become famous them! Lots of people admire them; "like her hat" is probably the most frequent comment we get from people we meet out hacking. I did modify them - I altered the ears so they are a neat fit and added channels for the brow band and headpiece. It stays on her bridle permanently and she's quite happy to have her ears wrangled into when I put the bridle on.
