For those that have regular lessons, how do you present yourself?

Me, i always try & make sure horse is spotlessly clean and well groomed, tack is cleaned, and my horse is tacked up & ready to go when instructor arrives.
I wear my breeches and a fairly smart ironed t shirt & jumper with polished boots.

Normal everyday hacking is yesterdays jods and what ever t-shirt is at the top of the basket!

I try to look as clean and smart as I can, clean tack the day before, wear clean boots and chaps and a jacket or gilet that fits neatly (otherwise I have to take it off because instructor can't see what your back is doing).

And have the horse looking as clean as possible, that's hard because he's grey and likes to sleep with his head in poo. But I do try.

oo - I mostly just throw on whatever, rush to the yard, get ponio together, brush off the worst & then I am good to go!

Though I don't think my instructor cares - she is looking at my riding, not my fashion sense

Me- look like I have been dragged though a bush backwards, my olds jods and muckiest jumper. Muddy boots.

Horse- dragged in from the field, hose down feet and sometimes legs, not groomed. Tack chucked on one minute before instructor arrives.

My instructor doesn’t mind, well they have never said so if they do!

It would all change if you competed; it takes ages getting everything ready, that’s probably why I don’t bother for lessons.

I sometimes clean my tack and boots for lessons, but mostly not. Horse is always groomed to within an inch of its life before riding anyway (even hacking). I wear whatever I usually do (I tend to wear smart casual anyway!)
Some lessons warrant more effort than others though. I have a lesson on Monday with my boss's Portuguese trainer - horse will be spotless, tack spotless, boots shined, clean beige jods etc.
I would never go so far as to plait for a lesson though

Tack is cleaned (As I would get murdered as Ins. knows how much it all cost

)

Horse is tidy and bandages/booted (with clean boots

Usually wear light breeches / clean polo shirt/jumper

Am usually presentable as I'd look like a gypo otherwise on my pikey pony

I try to clean stuff as I go along - keeping stuff mud free this time of year is virtually impossible! Definately clean the bits that matter on the ponio (gelding is grey and thinks he is a hippo! mare coloured but nearly so bad!) jods and boots invariably mud encrusted and tack not too bad!! Lesson more important than how we look - matters more to instructor too thankfully!!
