Hi everyone - sorry I've not been around much :o Travelling, school, family, all making less and less time for riding :(

But I am now back into lessons :) Having a few private ones to get me started again, and I'm really enjoying them!

Have had my old instructor, and really missed her teaching. We get along fantastically, and she's helped me so so much.

The past couple of lessons I've been on Pally - a lovely palomino mare, a lot speedier than my beloved Bonnie, but I'm really starting to like riding her. She works so hard, *if* you keep her interested and thinking, so it's been good for me to be on her.

My position seems to be okay.. ish.. I need to keep heels down and shoulders back, and to stop leaning forward! Other than that I'm steady in the saddle, in control, and happy :)

Any tips for fixing my heel/shoulder/leaning forward problem?

As always, thankyou for your help and advice - the forum has helped me and my confidence so much! And I've met some fantastic people :)

TG x

Whooo glad you are back riding :D

Try lifting your hands I have seen poples posture completly change on a horse when they have lifted their hands and bent their elbows :) (I used to hunch for england from riding tiny ponies untill my instructor told me this albeit with diffrent words :p) and dont force the heels down just let them hang :)

ETA if you want the exact words pm me and I will provide a translation too, always makes me laugh when she says it :D

Now come on Thelwellgirl......where are all the pics!!! I love your regular updates with a million pics and lots of big grins on your face!!

Glad you're back riding again :) For the heels, if you can dont think about forcing them down, try to get them flat if you can, and then my instructor tells me to think 'toes up' instead of 'heels down' and that seems to work for me as it pushes your heels down but your not forcing them down if that makes sense? Any photos? :P
