Lessons abroad

Has anyone ever ridden abroad for a prolonged period? I don't mean like a beach ride or something.. but lessons on a foreign horse?

Just interested to hear your experiences- I'm on the lookout for a new yard to ride at while I'm abroad.

Any major differences to how things are done back home in the UK?

Yes, but I'm sure it would vary from country to country.

I found things very different in Germany, but I got hold of a book about riding lessons and it explained a hell of a lot.

Sure. I was just interested in stories people had about their experiences. I didn't word it very well though not expecting it to be universally different everywhere except the UK!

I've got a book about horses in the local language so at least I'll be able to learn some equestrian vocab before I start..
