Any particular instructors recommended?

I can be such a wimp at times so I dont want to pay out alot of money if i'm going to be reduced to a nervous wreck!

I trained with Marie Smith for a couple of years who was fantastic but may be a bit tough for you if you are wimpy when it comes to being shouted at. Justine is very good & I don't think she is quite as tough on her pupils as Marie. Some of their lower level instructors are also very good

When my friend rode there she was given a foreign instructor that couldnt speak or understand english very well..
& they shove three lessons in one school, causing havoc if one horse decided to bomb off.. as my friend found out agess ago, but i think this was before it moved.

You at Hulberts? stay! Hulberts is the best

Depends what you want. I've been for lessons on an Advanced Schoolmaster with one of the advanced instructors and it was fabulous, couldn't rate it enough. I was taught by Justine Sole who I thought was great, and the horses are just brilliant (and very forgiving!!).

I wasn't overly impressed with the "riding school" horses though, just bog standard RS types. I believe (correct me if wrong) you get taught by the younger staff in the normal RS too, just like in standard RS's.

The school is massive though and easily fits three lessons in. There were three in there when I went and you don't even notice the others.

How'd you guess? Lol.

I was thinking of having a one off at Talland as a treat. But I have a feeling I'm going to be very out of place. I might just switch to a different instructor at Hulberts.

bless him hes such an adorable horse.

Who is your instructor at Hulberts?
They all teach in very different ways, as some specialise in certain things like Judy does Dressage and stuff, so you might find changing instructors gives you a completely different lesson.

I have had a lunge lesson and jumping on schoolmaster at Talland with Laura Ferrier and she was brilliant. Managed to sort out my crookedness and got me back into jumping after a break. Well worth it, she was very encouraging and really good at explaining things.
