There have been lots of posts on here recently regarding violence used towards horses, professionals treating animals like manky old meat etc etc, i thought it would be nice to remember all those people out there who are good and kind and generous........you get my drift.

Sometimes we get bogged down in the negative side of horsemanship and forget that people can, and do, very nice things for our furry friends and their owners, so why not lets have a big group hug and tell some nice stories :)

My mare is out on loan as a broodmare to possibly one of the nicest families i have ever met, she is the most relaxed chilled girly with them (being barefoot and pregnant helps:D) and i can see from the way she is with them that they are good to her. Nothing is ever to much trouble when i go to visit and they are just generally all round good eggs :)

Well my friend has had her horse 5 years now and it's become pretty obvious he has been abused mentally and physically and it is likely that he was drugged when she tried him out. For one he cribs due to stress and they never mentioned that. He was sold as a confidence giver and all rounder but sadly je isn't. He has panic attacks whenever he is asked to compete and will just rear and rear until my friend has to retire. Theyve had so many different instructors and so many different tactis for him but it just seems like he's not going to ever compete. Bare in mind this was sold to a 12 year girl at the time. She can't afford another horse and she knows what would happen to her horse if she sold him so she has sarcificied all her competing and spent so much time getting his trust up. Though even now he trusts her completely and adores her...he still wont compete as he still freaks out. Im just proud of her keeping him since now 5 years later he's a completely different horse on the ground and when being ridden for pleasure,

My amazing riding instructor who has helped me so much. When I met her I had lost all my confidence in myself and my riding. She has helped rebuild it all.

Thank god i was thinking noone had anything nice to say!!! :)

I recently heard that Dennis Lynch is giving a percentage of his prize money to help abandoned horses in Ireland, i thought that was kind. :)

My instructor who's not only fab at what she does in terms of improving us and the horses, but also puts up with and picks up the pieces of whatever yard and life dramas have happened to us all since her last visit (boss pays for us to have fortnightly lessons with her!) and gives great advice when one is feeling a bit down for one reason or another.

Also my YM, who is one of the best horsepeople I will probably ever meet and if I could be even half as good as her one day in the results she gets from some pretty special cases, I'd be pleased.
