Feel so pleased that my dressage lesson went well, after a dismal competition 2 weeks ago, which was crowned by my horse turning round to bite when I tapped him on the shoulder with my dressage whip in the warm up! I don't think he was feeling too happy and I certainly wasn't after the tests.
My instructor (only had a couple of lessons with this one before and a long time ago) said I am trying too hard which makes the horse get fed up and down tools.
Under her instruction today he went as well as he has ever, it felt so right, it felt how it should! I have got myself into a downward spiral. She said not to read any books and concentrate on being as soft and light as possible with the aids. Horse looked a lot happier after the lesson too. Thank goodness, I was compeltely depressed and fed up. Feel much better now.
