Sorry for yet another dopey post.. but what do the letters after some horses registered names mean? I know the Z horses are from the Zangerscantspelltherestofit stud, but my mare is a Hannoverian and has a K after her name. Does this just tally with the year she was born?

Where is she from?

It's most likely a breeders' suffix - they are becoming more and more common. Breeders add a letter at the end rather than the beginning to avoid confusion with regard to the various naming conventions of the different studbooks. I do know someone that uses a "K" but he breeds KWPN horses so likely not the source of your mare.
