I'm really confused about all the different levels of eventing!
I know it starts at BE85 and then goes BE90, BE100 but then isn't there BE100 plus or something?
Whats the difference between for example novice open and normal novice?
also whats all the 1* and 2* stuff about and CIC and CCI or whatever it is =S?

I probably sound like a numpty, but i've never known and think it's time i ask!

thank you in advance!

All of this is prob on the British Eventing website somewhere if you rootle around!
but wuick run through..
Starts at BE 80 (training class) , then BE90 (used to be intro, Then BE100( used to be Pre novice).
The there is the BE100 plus class which is designed as a step stone inbetween PN and Novice, it has a nov dressage test, Nov height SJ (i think poss a little smaller?) and then PN xc.
An open section eg BE100open means that horses who are above the restrictions for this class can compete in this seciton.. in this case a horse with any points must compete in the BE100open.

A CIC is an FEI run international one day event. A CCI is an international 3 day event.
* is international novice but normally seen as inbetween a novice and an intermediate.
** is intermediate, etc going up too **** which is badders burghley etc.

hope that helps?

(and hope Im right.. if not please correct me?)

as above.
and yeh BE100+ is one hole up from BE100 SJ height. whereas novice is two holes up from BE100.
similarly intermediate novice is one hole SJ up from novice. and intermediate is two holes up from novice :p
so the stepping stone classes have the higher level dressage, lower level xc and inbetween SJ
:D :D
