If the brake fluid warning light is on & there is plenty of brake fluid in the bottle thing...wtf else could be the matter with it...??

Very cross...I'm on a week off work, we're supposed to be picking up building supplies, taking Adrian for an ECG & taking Trev on his first trip out & now this happens. Mechanic won't respond & the wretched thing doesn't have a manual.

Nice big lorry driver's Yorkie to anyone who can shed light on it...

i have recently learnt that the warning light means that hydraulic pressure has been lost in one side of the brake system or that the fluid level in the botle thing is dangerously low? bt my friend recently had the light on and it was because the parking brake pedal or lever thing as misadjusted they said nothing was wrong with the brakes and a simple adjustment should fix the problem...
sorry if i am wrong! as not an expert?
goodluck with it!

It could be a fault with the sensor itself, I have a Layland Daf and had something similar happen not with the brake fluid light though and another warning light. I'm with Rquine Resue and I just phoned them and they came out within an hour told me it was a problem with the warming light sensor and fixed it within half an hour. If your a member of any of these breakdown people I would just give them a call.

Oh dear, sounds like it needs a mechanic then...

Highly annoying as we spent £1,800 getting it through its MOT this year as the wretched thing needed all its brakes changing. The mechanic seems to think that we're a cash cow, & I'm more sick of the lorry & him than I can possibly tell you, but we've tried others & they've been totally useless.

There is def enough fluid in the bottle thing.

Better go & tell o/h... Bang go all my plans as usual...

You need to be sure it is only for the brake fluid and not something else as well like low air presure .. but you could take
the caps of and check the float isnt stuck most cars and trucks have them so when the fluid
level drops so does the float and puts the warning light on ...

Yes the warning light is not just for fluid level. There are sensors to detect loss of hydraulic pressure in either system. Needs looking at by a mechanic immediately.
