So anyone else affected by this when it comes in next month?

Myself and quite a few of my equestrian friends and family will be hit in July when it affects our 7.5T horse boxes!

Thanks Ken! its gonna cost us £200 every time we want to go to a show!!

Nope, I'm just outside and can get to the M25 without going into the zone thankgoodness. Do feel sorry for you though, and small independant businesses. I was under the impression that vehicules over a certain age couldn't be modified, however my lorry mechanic says it is possible to convert all, however old. My F-reg Ford 813 would cost over £2k to do though, and the box itself isn't worth a huge amount more than that.

Wow that is cheaper than my friends quote! she was told she wouldnt have any change from £5,000!

I think most people will revert to good old trailers ! but I have to say doesnt this equate to the same emissions ? 4 x 4 diesel pulling 2 x heavy horses!!??

I thought this posting was going to be about something else

We've bought a 3 horse trailer and are in the process of selling our lorry

It's so annoying because the yard is only in the zone by half a mile and it's very clearly in surrey not london

I've got to get rid of my lorry and buy a trailer too.
Where I live we have about 5 signs in various places and they very kindly put one up at the end of my road too

They have put signs at the end of every single road round here because we're right on the edge of the zone. Some of the signs are pointless because you can't get onto the road without already being in the zone

They must have had a very large budget for signage if they've done the same all the way around the zone!

They WILL have a large budget! Think of all those £200's they're going to make!

And I bet that money's not going to go towards anything 'green'? Just in the coffers to be spent on fat-cat bonuses I reckon.

hopefully not affected too much for competing. To be honest we will avoid shows in the zone - no way could i afford the extra expense, i'm sure others will be the same so surely thats not good for the equine centres involved?!

My work lorries will all be affected, but thankfully most of our business is within Kent & surrey, we will probably avoid the LEZ zone its not worth the hassle. what with congestion too - and all these costs need to be passed onto the customer somehow which they wont want either!!

Good one Ken, way to win support !!

NO figure I have heard was £2000 for every tax payer

The website told me my landy was affected so don't think swapping your lorry for a 4x4/trailer will necessarily get you off the hook. Our small van luckily isn't affected (but only just, and only if the rules aren't further tightened later), because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to come and stay with my mum any more - getting two of us and a dog down from Yorkshire on the train isn't viable.

I wouldn't mind but fuel economy/environmental concerns/cost were at the top of our list when we chose our vehicles, and we picked the best mpg for the size of vehicle we needed. Maybe I should buy myself a third car for when I come to London!

See some horeboxes now being advertised as LEZ Compliant
You can use website to check vehicle (put in reg no and make) before buying.
