just had a horse arrive riddled with lice, tried to buy sulphur apparantly is illegal, went pharmacy, need prescription, went vet, need a special code which we dont have yet! I love Italy:D. So any advice on some natural remedies i could use while i wait? i didnt want to bath her because of the cold but maybe is the only way, she is so itchy poor babe.
I was thinking douse her in olive oil, then wash her off using the water from our natural sulphuric spring. any one think that would work? or any other ideas? would you clip her? thanks for any help. sorry for poor typing, keyboard is broken

Hi

You need something with cyclomethicone as the main active - it's used for head lice in humans. You can get a spray called (I think) Flick n Swish on ebay - which is a detangler but contains this chemical. Good luck

I see you are based in Tuscany so don't know if this will help but you can buy a Louse powder from Hyperdrug (google the name) for £7.14 here in the Uk. The other thing you can do is use a womer with Ivermectin as this will get rid of them too.

thanks for the help, i have ordered ivermectin online as guess what, need a codice di stalla for wormers too! will have a look now for anything with those ingredients in.

does anyone know if there is anything i can do in the mean time to soothe her her itching, i hate to see her suffer like this :(
