I had a pair of horses paddocked together and a third waiting to go in. She has been with me over winter but ground conditions didnt allow for a safe integration.
Fast forward to now, one of my pair was due to leave so i was going to integrate third so first horse wasn't alone. However, I discovered a massive lice problem on third pony. None of my others on site had any signs.
I deosected all horses on my property (5). Lice pony had a massive amount of die off lice visibly after treatment, none of the others had anything visible.
Two weeks later, I have deosected them again and lice pony had a handful of smaller lice show as dead on her coat but nothing else, all itching has stopped. Nothing showed on the others that i could see.
My first horse is lonely without his original friend. It has now been three/four days since second deosect, when would it be safe to introduce third pony to my first horse?
Should i just put them together and then deosect the all horses on my land a third time? I'm concerned about first horses mental state at being alone.
Thank you for your help.
