Hi all
Arrived in plenty of time and got Saf ready for the dressage, she warmed up well and for once I actually felt we did a good test and was chuffed when the next competitor in said that he thought we had done a lovely test so was a little disappointed to get 38, but still fair mark for us.
Sj warmed up calm so in we went, fence 1 to 3 were a little quick (fast
), I am still trying a forward seat and then fence 4 was an oxer related stride to upright, she dived at the oxer and nearly went over on landing and I went up her neck both legs in front of the saddle with me hugging her neck and Saf carried on regardless of mummy hanging on
I could see the ground then got a glimpse of the red fence and she jumped it and somehow I clung on and got partially back into the saddle with the left flap up my bum
I thought as luck was with me, might as well keep going and can remember mumbling to anyone who would listed "How the hell did I stay on" with a grin / grimmace on my face
I really don't know how but we finished clear.
Saf and I are now available for stunt work, bookings being taken
The XC was was back to Saf thinking she knew best, it was too small and she had no regard for it and I had no brakes, the least said the better, we had an annoying stop as I was being tanked past a fence when I should have been turning right, oh well today was not our day. I will now go to a metal curb chain no more elastic for her
Thank you all for reading, I am off to treat the whip lash injuries and sore back with a glass of wine
