Lifting head issue

Recently my pony has started as soon as you get on him to like put his head up and like plow forward? He will sometime do it at home but will always do it when out hunting as soon as I get on him.. He does get quite exited at the hunt.. Like attempting to rear if I don't let him go forward because we have to stand and wait.. He is in a normal snaffle with a micklem bridle

If he's raising his head so high that you lose control I'd put a running martingale on him. Do you have to stand and wait or could you walk circles instead? You don't want him to get into the habit of rearing.
