Lightweight Clippers - please recommend

I may be getting my own clippers as a joint xmas pressie from all my family and OH but I have no idea what to choose. Will definately be on a budget and it would be for one horse who has a thin-ish coat (TB X) who would only have a trace clip at most.

Please recommend some to me with prices.

I have just brought some Liscop Cordless Clippers that are great, I had Wolsley mains powered before and they were good too but a bit heavy and the mains cord got in the way.

Now I have the cordless ones I can't believe how much easier clipping is without the cord, only thing is the battery only last for about 45 mins before you need to charge it up again but you can easily do a trace clip with it.
I am going to buy another battery pack so that I can clip without waiting for them to charge - they are great!

I have Moser Avalon - light battery-powered ones but seem up to the job. I haven't done a full clip with them yet due to Ron being off with injury immediately I bought them. I don't think they're powerful enough for great big wollyy coats, but they slide right through Ron's TB coat with ease. Peasridge has got a good write up for them. I think they were about £170 last year.
 
I have just got home from clipping Che, a full TB. I bought the Liveryman Harmony battery clippers and this is the first time ive used them. I have given him a low trace clip and they were brilliant. I clipped him alone and having the battery on a belt around my waist made it so much easier. They went through his coat really easily, he is a TB but had grown quite a fluffy coat, there was about a bucket full of hair on the floor afterwards. They are really light and easy to manouvre around all the fiddly bits and after 45 minutes they still had plenty of charge left and the clip was all done. Would thoroughly recommend.
 
I read some recommendations on here for the Moser Avalon and tried to buy some, but nowhere near me stocked them so I ended up with Liveryman Harmony, which cost £185.

So far I have clipped two bibs and one trace, the latter on a very very hairy lad. Battery still going and they are very quiet and easy to use.

The battery lead kept coming out, rather annoyingly, but I hadn't pushed it in far enough I realised later! The extra bonus is that two of the ponies had previously needed sedating to clip and both accepted the new clippers without panicking. Also you get two clipper heads, one wide and one narrow, so I am thinking up some artistic patterns now for the ponies. Any ideas please?

I also have the moser avalons and they are fine doing a full clip on my horse that resembles a yeti by November.

Think as Becky said they were about £170 but I got mine with extra blades.

. They also did a full clip on a T/B with no trouble. When I got them a few years ago I think they were about £150 or so- 2 sets of blades and they're cordless.
 
I have the liveryman filly clippers which are a lovely lightweight set of clippers but probably more heavy duty and £££ than you are looking for. another set which i looked at was the liveryman harmony clippers. lovely lightweight but didnt think it would cope with the clipping i wanted to do. x

Another vote for liveryman harmony - they are really good and easy to use, for a TB trace clip they are quite powerful enough. Top tip - Check out prices on Farmcare UK, I couldn't find anywhere as competitively priced. They are nothing to do with me but happen to be local and very helpful
