Hi All

Now we have 2 horses we are looking to move up from a mare and foal trailer to a double. Our horses weigh around 1200kg so ideally looking for a trailer around the 800kg mark. Does anyone have a lightweight double they are pleased with? Both are horses are good travellers, so a trailer doesn't have to be nutter proof but obviously want it to cope with day to day knocks and scrapes.

I have a Rice Beaufort, it weighs 745kg unladen. Its so sturdy and very easy to move, and I can hitch it up alone easily too, but usually have a bit of help from my mum. By "help" I mean she stands nearby offering "advice", or she holds the latch up on the hitchlock as I wind the jockeywheel to drop it onto the towbar :p
It takes 2 16hh horses, we have 2 cobs, a 14.3 and a 15.2 each weighing 520kg.
We tow with a Land Rover discovery, btw :)

I vote for the Rice Beaufort.
Very light to tow, we bought one second hand and it served us well for 3 years and we used it almost every weekend.

We had to sell it due to the Land Rover practically breaking and not having the funds to repair it. So we had nothing to tow with.

Cracking trailer though. Would get one again.
