I love my Bow Balance stirrups, but am looking for a lightweight version too. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hmm, I would recommend flex-ons because they're definitely worth it. Maybe try the B Vertigo Safety Stirrups?? Those are my favorites, very safe, I've fallen and haven't gotten dragged with them, but they are $179.99
However, I think they are worth it. Most stirrups are around that price point, but if you are looking for cheaper than peacock stirrups are the way to go.

I think I've got some I'd sell. similar design to bow balance but black plastic material. I'll see if I can find them tomorrow

I feel like I must suggest these every time stirrups are mentioned but acavallo operas - not scarily expensive, lightweight just the right level of grippiness and their construction means they're at least a bit flexible. I've loaned a pair of mine to someone with a knee injury and it's been massively better for her. Charlie's owner has a knee problem too and says they help loads

I had Acavallo Operas recommended on a thread where I asked about equipment to help with back/hip pain - I went for the Arena Alupros instead as they're the safety stirrup version, and they're really lovely and lightweight. About £130 new.

I'm thinking of lighter stirrups, I currently have Bow Balance too. These look great!

Thanks! Some options to look into. How much flex is in the Operas? I have hypermobilty and need something to stop my bendy ankles locking.

I swear by my Raddery Flexi stirrups (I have the caged version but they do non-caged options too) but they may not for everyone.

If you're not worried about them looking pretty, The Smartrider Escapes are very light and can also be used as a mounting aid. I won my set in a competition (wouldn't have bought them as I thought they were ugly!), but I have to admit I'm a convert. Wide footbed, do actually come apart in a fall and easy to clean.

I also love Acavallo Opera stirrups, cheap for technical stirrups and lightweight. They have some flex so, although I haven't fallen off, I'm sure they'll open and release if I did.

And I bought Alupro from these threads ?. Sold my operas after I got my foot stuck when mounting from a mounting block. Alupro are the safer option.
