Gaarrghhh.

I'm in desperate need of a couple of lightweight turnout rugs for my two beasties. Need ideally 100g fill not anything more.

But having spent the evening on-line, am struggling to find anything!

Need one with a detachable neck if poss and a generous tail flap, the other not fussed.

One 6ft, the other 6ft3.

Have searched everywhere, e-bay the lot. You can get plenty of heavyweight turnouts, or no-fill, but nowt in the range that I need. Oh help!

Don't want to spend a fortune (do any of us).

Any idea's peeps?

Love my swish rug, 70g detachable neck and reasonably priced (though postage is about £7). Horse has lived in it all winter and only sigh of wear appeared yesterday when the new horse decided to grab my horse by the neck of her rug and not let go!

Ooohh....... have just had a look at their website!

Thanks "vallin".

Would you say their sizing was generous, or not??

One of my horses is a chunky traddie cob, the other a Welsh D mare (lighter type).

They're quite adjustable because they're slightly higher necked than traditional rugs. I'd day they come up slightly bigger than Mark Todd but smaller than weatherbeeta?

I love the fit of shires tempest 100g, it's all I've used all winter, my D has huge shoulders yet it fits a treat, never moves

i bought one from robinsons in their sale a little while ago, purple and navy in colour, was only £27, very impressed with it for the price.

Barnstormers. They are excellent people to deal with I 've visited their shop when we were in that area. They are lovely very helpful and things are well priced. I've had several things by mail order everything's always arrived promptly and been good.

I have a Mark Todd Autumner. The neck can be bought seperately. Great quality rug. Not as cheap as Swish but you get what you pay for with rugs usually.

Ruggles are excellent rugs for the price. They are low on stock in certain sizes but are expecting more soon.

or get a 100g liner for your no fills?

we use the horseware ones, and just clip them in to the back fillet string rings. they stay in place fine without being clipped in to neck on other brand rugs.

I like the Shires Tempest 100gm too. My lad is a "warm" horse so he's worn it most of the winter, upping to 200gm when the snow was coming in sideways.

It seems pretty robust. Can't wait to get it washed now - it's that "starting to stink" time of year.

He would be rugless had it not been -2 here this morning.

Ditto pongy now though as she's not had any of her other rugs out!

OK..... thanks for all the suggestions, am very appreciative! Trust HHO to come up with some good ideas :)

Am off to Redpost Equestrian this afternooon; have had a look on their website - I'm the sort of person that has to SEE and FEEL something before I buy, plus can take one of their normal rugs to compare for size.

Am looking forward to some nice horsey retail therapy :)

I really like the amigo 1200d 100g, think it's the bravo. Has fittings for liners as well, although I often forget to do the front liners fastenings & only clip the fillet string bits on but they never move. Depends what your budget is but I've recently bought one of mine a Rambo duo as a spring rug & I'm really pleased with it.

Me too i want no fill to replace the one I sold - I wont buy Amigo because after one year it leaked. I am fussy as I prefer this type of buckles http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HKM-Surci...171?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cee25f6c3
