Anyone got any ideas of where to look?

I can get one made up if necessary but it would be easier to find someone who makes them already. It doesn't matter how it attaches at the back as this can be easily changed. Does need a spring bolt on the front if possible.

Thanks for any ideas :)

Contact some places that build 3.5t boxes? I am sure they would sell/make you a partition :)

Agree with this!
My 3.5t has a partition without a head guard. I bought mine from a company in Reading though so may be a bit far from where you are based.

Thanks for the replies!

I did get a jump bar from John Oates who were very good, so I will give them a ring and see what they have as standard.

My cob is still quite new to travelling and is happier with a partition to lean on. I'd also rather he stayed on the driver's side of the box than on the passenger!

Don't worry,I'm not travelling 2, well aware of the weight limits :)

Yes, I think my boy might! Having had a youngster manage to turn around in a trailer and sit down with her bum under the breast bar, (she was over 16 hands at the time) I do prefer them to be a little more contained! :D

they often crop up on Ebay where people have changed the configuration of their box and the unwanted panel would just add unnecessary weight. In fact I have one leaning against my house ready to go on ebay now but its not the sort you are looking for sadly

Oh shame WelshD! I'm only really looking as mine is quite heavy and is starting to drop a bit, and I think one without a head guard would be less claustrophobic for the cob. He does travel nicely hemmed in, (lol) but I think a bit more room to move his head wouldn't hurt.

Mine travels well without the head guard, and as she travels alone I don't see the need to have one. I'm happy with her being able to move her head and look around should she want to, rather than bash her head on the head guard.

Have you tried ebay? My whole box will be going up for sale later this year, shame you don't want a new box completely haha!

Just looked on Ebay, nothing close. I did buy the new box but am now being super fussy about all the bits, the guy who does the work for me thinks I am mad ha ha :)

I have considered getting him to remove the head guard (it would need doing properly as it's all welded together) but the partition is double the weight of the new ones. Maybe I should just buy a new one and get him to grind off the guard? Although I'd rather not vandalise something that costs over £200 :p

I might just FB him and ask how much for him to make one :)

Boss horseboxes make their boxes partitions without head guards, maybe worth contacting them to see if you can get one.
