For a 16.2hh DWB.

I bought a h/w Weatherbeeta this season which fitted nicely with no rubs or slippage. Mark Todd also seems to fit him well but don't seem as waterproof or durable.

I'm looking for something waterproof but not sweaty and fairly rip-proof as all of my lightweights seem to get shredded. Pref. under £50?

Any ideas?

Thanks

i have a lovely mark todd lw rug and had it for 3 season no troubles, but it did cost me £57 you pay for quality i'm afraid

Couldn't agree more - except mine only lasted one season. Hence the durability comment.

Have you looked into the Horseware Amigo range? I've got a few and they're brill.

I'll second the Amigo's. I think there are 2 lightweight versions though and you would need to opt for the higher denier one.

i never usualy go with Masta but i got my lad the Masta Zing rug and it's on it's third year.i have had to do a small repair on it but it still is waterproof and cost £19.99 on good ol ebay.

this is my mark todd rug like i said before 3 yrs no probs, i love this rug worth every penny

and this is the amigo rug i have for a narrow chested horse its fine but for my wide tb it is very restrictive, it never leaked but it is very very lightweight feels paper thin and i feel it doesn't really offer much protection from the weather.

these our only my personally opinion though.

That is the one I had. A different version, perhaps the problems lie there. Will have a look around anyway and take note of the suggestions.

it appears excalty the same as mine, just a different colour, mine has been out in heavy rain (not intetionally) and has never leaked i have never had it washed (shhhh) or reproofed and it has been fine.

mine had a weatherbeeta l/w landa rug

and i love it, its was £49.99 (no neck but can buy ones with or buy on separately) and its fabulous, its brilliant no slips, good protection etc

Definitely the Amigo 1200 denier, great value for money. They come in navy blue and are slightly more expensive than the pastel/other colour amigo's that are 600d and far less robust/waterproof.

Amigo all the way for me. I have them on a 17 hh welsh cob x cleveland bay, a 16.2 TB and a 16.1 warmblood. They are only rain sheets as no fill but don't slip or leak. They are a very reasonable price and my Fal rainsheets are now in storage. I also like the WB Landa 100 g fill for something a little warmer.

If you can get hold of the original Rambo rainsheet with the blue net lining they are superb.
