Hi all

I am planning on buying my first trailer over the next few months but need something fairly lightweight due to the size/weight of my car (Audi Q5) if I want to tow two horses.

I have read universally positive things about Bates trailers, but wanted to ask for any other thoughts or recommendations.

Thank you in advance!

How much can your Q5 tow? I have a Bateson Ascot, I think the unladen weight is 925kg and gross weight is 2300kg so that gives 1375kg payload. It is a lovely trailer, light and airy inside and has a lockable tack locker at the front. Bateson also do the Deauville, which is the same without the tack locker and so a bit lighter at 860kg, same gross weight. They also do the Derby, which is lightweight at 675kg, but with only 1025kg payload, probably wouldn't be enough for two horses.
