They are really difficult to keep on...I used to use VetWrap bound around hoof, bulb of heel etc but they still move. Also, ask vet for extra sticky tape..the type they use for dogs.

Found duct tape just got clogged with shavings.

I pressume its the rubber lily pads you're using, not the plastic ones?

The rubber ones are the best. Keep using them even though they are a pain in the ass, they do work!

Good luck with your mare - you will get there in the end.

Thanks, poor horse, it's not easy trying to put them on on your own and she's finding it hard to stand on three legs!!

I've found a new farrier who does imprint shoes so going to get them on asap!! xxx

Hi,

Just wanted to say I went to Gatcombe and called in at the imprint stand today.

I was very impressed by what they are selling. They have a web site www.imprintshoes.co.uk. Just in case you were wondering Iam nothing to do with them, but what they were saying made sense and there was no hard sell.

Yeah i've heard from a few people now that they're good. At least it means she won't have to have nails in feet which was worrying me. Going to try and get farrier for wed's so will report back!!!

Hi,

I wonder if you could let me know how you get on. They are also doing a new sport shoe which interests me as my horse has a tendon injury.
The lightness, flexibility and potential to lessen impact is what impressed me.

This is what they were launching at Gatcombe. I think the principals are the same as what you would be having. So would appreciate info on your experiences.

Thanks

Will do, no problems. They arn't cheap, going to cost me £200 for a set every 4-5 weeks. That is for laminitis though so yours poss may not need them on so often xxx

Oh god. Thought this was gonna be a post about fish ponds coz my flipping lily pads are rampant at the moment and poor fishies never get a glimpse of the sunshine! Thought someone might have some good advice. Numpty question of the day: what are lily pads if they aren't the flat green things that grow in fish ponds????

Hi,

Back to shoeing - yep the guy at Gatcombe said the ones I was looking at were £200 a shoeing as well !!!

From what he was saying they have been doing the laminitis shoes for some time (the white ones with little green crosses) and have now developed the sport boot from them.

Thanks, will wait to hear how you get on.

Box of frogs - you made me laugh !!
