The stallion Lindon Principal won the CB ridden class at the Royal. It was mixed class of pure-bred and part-bred Cleveland Bays and is we believe the first time a pure-bred has won the mixed class.

Principal stands at the small stud run by Lincoln University. He is know for his quiet temperament and good manners. He is ridden by students, fulfills his stud duties and hunts.

He is by the stallion Borderfame Prince Charming a 17hh CB who lives up to his name. BPC was a successful eventer and was the first CB to be registered as a sport horse.

Principal's dam is Stainmore Briar Rose. Stainmore have been breeding CB's for more than 20 years.

Congratulations to all at the university.

Aww, congrats Prince! He is the quietest stallion you could hope for and very handsome to boot! No problem at all to deal with when I was on yard duties at Uni. Bless him, i'm sure all at Lincoln are very proud of him!

You are not part of the all Cleveland Bays are stubborn bolshy brutes clique then? Just a person of good taste and judgement.

Thank you - yes we are. He didn't come anywhere in the Supreme Ridden Championship, but we didn't expect to. The fact that there was a pure bred Cleveland Bay in the Championship was enough for us. He's done as much as we could have hoped him to. He was up against professionals who do this day in, day out and really, you would expect the Championship to be won by some sort of riding horse type horse. He is a lovely horse in himself and that's what you want. Thanks to Rollin to publicising him; I was too reticent to do it.

You are very welcome Cariad. I think the CB is a really 'usefull horse' perfect for leisure riding and riding club activities.

Perhaps the society should be renamed 'The really useful horse society'. I know I know copyright and all that.
