any opinions/reviews would be very greatly appreciated as I'll be phoning about livery bang on 9am (assuming I'm still awake)

I can offer mini caramel shortbreads and diet coke :)

You are up at 5.30 am? Lol
Sorry can't offer much advice re yards, you are a bit far out for me ( our yard is lovely but too far for you)
Heard a bit of hearsay on a couple of the yards but nothing ive experience 1st hand.
If you liveried at ingliston I take it anywhere will struggle to match it facilities wise. I assume Kingsbarn is to far from you.

Did you find out the reason behind the eviction?

Hope you find somewhere soon. X

I was nightshift :)
where is kingsbarn?
I know I'm not going to find anything with the same facilities but hey ho..
my letter says that they want to expand for bsj and be and that there have been incidents over the last 18 months where staff have been injures. *bleeeeep* :(
I've managed to somehow rope martin arnott into helping me so hopefully he will know someone with spaces

Kingsbarn is Falkirk (ish) I think. They do have excellent facilities but I'm not sure how much turnout they have? I'm pretty sure the will have a website.....I was thinking of there as they hold a fair few competitions there so you would still be able to compete from 'home'
Good luck on your search

I'm at South Cathkin between East kilbride and Rutherglen, not sure if this is close to you but not far from Busby?? Not sure if it what you are looking for but suits me :)

Which is slightly odd given that they were advertising in various places, including H & H, for a yard manager, with one of the main components of the job description including the provision of an excellent service for the liveries.

Also, if there have been incidences where the staff have been injured - I think that's what your post is saying - what happened to safe practice, good insurance and training? Unfortunately, accidents do happen with horses from time to time.

Sorry to hear about your enforced move. Ingliston is a lovely place.

it would appear that a decision was only made on Monday and the letters were handed out giving notice.

I did notice the ad in the free ad magazine you get in some of the tack shops - there hasn't been a yard manager for a few months and there have been a few times when I felt my horse wasn't getting the care I was paying for but I won't go into that as it's in the past now.

Injury-wise, I've only been there for 10 months so can't comment on anything that happened previously but I do know that one particular horse kicked two different members of staff within a space of 2 weeks - he double-barrelled one of them, breaking her arm. I do agree with you - if you work around horses, you should expect to get bitten/nipped etc but you shouldn't put yourself in danger - as far as I know, the girl was mucking out when the horse decided to attack her. I guess some people will point out that the horse should have been removed first.

Anyways, I owe Martin Arnott as he managed to find us a new home on such short notice. I'm going to get him a nice bottle of something once I find out what he drinks.
