I posted on Monday that my horse had a very swollen face and we were unsure what it was. Well it is still bad and after initially thinking that it was a bite or sting, we are now starting to re-think!

We have since found out that the fields neighbouring ours were sprayed with Linseed on Sunday afternoon. Does anyone know if this is poisonous to horses??? We have wracked our brains trying to think of anything else it could be. We have walked the fields and have found nothing. His hard feed hasnt changed - it really is a mystery!

It depends on what part of the linseed the spray was made from - when we feed linseed to horses the reason we boil it is to break down the outer husk which is poisonous!

Hope horsey gets better soon.
