So I'm new to the forum (but have been lurking for some time) and was wondering if there are any Lipizzaner owners, breeders, enthusiasts out there?

I have a lovely little gelding and am eager to find other people who share the love of this breed as there aren't many here in Australia.

If there are any of you out there I'd love to hear from you! I'm interested to see how competitve the Baroque horses are against the warmbloods, are there specific classes, maybe even shows (I can dream!) for them etc.

So if you're up for it, post away:)

Hi there !

Just read your note re Lipizzaners.
I am trying to find my perfect horse & looking at a 6 year old Lipi tomorrow!

I'm quite excited as I was looking for an Andalusian but recently read that Lipizzaners are short in stature (so am I !) and lovely temperments.

Tell me what you love about them & do they naturally have long backs? My riding instructor has seen some photos of the horse I am seeing & she said that a long back can be an issue - but then I have done a little research & it sounds as though this is a trait of theirs & not a problem but a benefit!

If like him I'd of course have a full vet check anyhow.

Any top tips very welcome from you or anyone else reading this!

i used to share an amazing lippi x arab mare. She was everything i could ever want in a horse: athletic, enthusiastic, honest, fiery, fun, graceful, beautiful and loving.

I would love another cross like her. Arabs are my favourite breed, but the Lippi added something to her. She was 22 but thought she was 4, she was a fab jumper, could kick anyones backside in a race and moved beautifully but had the best manners i have ever seen in a horse. I really did love her to bits. She had a more lippi face, more convex in contrast the arabs dish.

Hey I love Welsh D's too. Thats a great combination.

Lucky you - any photos?

Here he is:
