Due to my clippers getting lubrication oil in them (No one told me that even though there is a bit for it in the box NOT to srote the oil in the case!) and smoking/producing flames I think I have to get new clippers!

Had a look on t'internet and saw somw on ebay that I can afford. A pair of reconditioned Lister Laube clippers, I'm guessing they are impoerted from the states as they have a convertor with them. And it says that all parts have been replaced with new modern parts.

Do u think they will be ok? He gets a full clip almost all year round as he gets sweaty easily and has a long coat in summer(hairy beastie!!) BUt its not like we are clipping through a full coat each time

If Beau was a fine haired horse I could probably get away with trimmers on his legs, but so far have killed 2 pairs tryin got do his legs (yes they were cleaned b4 hand!)

Not sure about them but Lister stuff has always impressed me in the past

Its up to you, but i wouldn't touch them. I'd rather get some brand new clippers fom a reputable place, but thats just me

If you want a reccommendation here you go-

The Premier 3000 are the best clippers you can get and they're great value, they were recommended by Beaconhorse who also has them.
They are heavy duty clippers for the price of medium duty ones, they take Lister blades and they're just great. Quiet, lightweight but powerful. I clipped my very very hairy Welsh the other day with no problems-

Premier 3000 from FarmcareUK

Oh and the company i got them from, Farmcare UK are fantastic too, i ordered them on a Friday at 4pm they arrived the next day, Saturday at 9am!!!
BTW i swapped the blades for Lister Fine blades for an extra £7.

Hope this helps

DO NOT GO THERE!!! Seriously, they are not the commonly known Lister, they are a usa company. I had a pair which were seriously unpredictable, and eventually shattered. Not at all happy. You'd be better off spending a bit more on something that will last!
