Lister Legato Trimmers

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the above trimmers. I have a hairy Cob and need trimmers to get into all the nooks and crannies of his legs and head.

I bought these trimmers and they are useless. They just about trim his whiskers but jam up and will not trim any hair off without some serious problems. (yes fully charged and sharp blades)

Speaking to my local saddlery they have said that they sell these to lots of people who use them to take entire legs and heads off!!! I really cant even take anything off with these trimmers.

Just googled and hit this and I am having the same issue and they are noisy. We have checked double checked and checked again. I can't even sell them second hand as I would lumber some other mug with them.

Just got off the phone apparently there is a known issue with the casing.

That really indicates to me that mine are definitely faulty. How quiet are they and what areas do you use them on please

Mine are quite noisy and yes I have double triple and quadruple checked that they are put together properly.

Trimmers as opposed to clippers? I wouldn't dream of using anything less than proper job clippers with coarse blades: I've got the Lister Neon Stars for my cob. They do legs, head.

When I got mine I just wanted trimmers to tidy up bits yes it was false economy but there ya go such is life.

An update for you. Rang Lister Shearing and apparently there is a problem (known) with the casing. They are local to me so I took them in this morning and the lovely girl in reception took me to the workshop and they were fixed there and then they have literally taken them to bits cleaned and replaced in a new modified casing. The bit that tensions the blade has been breaking. They are now nice and quiet and if they clip as well as. He sample hairy fabric I will be happy. Have yet to apply to his gorgeousness.
