I've just done my first clip with my new Lister Liberty clippers, although I ended up doing half of it with the Libretto trimmers that came with them. Although I got the job done, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. They were very slow and the finish is pretty awful. I didn't think that much of the Librettos either, my Wahl trimmers are slightly better at half the price. The first thing I had to do after I got them was sell the blades the Librettos came with and buy Wahl ones as there are no guides available for the originals so they can't actually be used for trimming.
Having said that, the system of having the battery on your waist and the lightness of the clippers is great and they are also pretty quiet. I did find them a bit hard to plug and unplug into the battery, especially with a bit of oil on my hands.
What do others think of them? I've only used mains clippers before so I guess I am just expecting too much.

Did you charge the battery up before you used it op? I have the same clippers and they are excellent. I did charge mine before I used them for the first time overnight.

I had them and had no problems with them, I always charged night before and they always lasted the couple of hours or so spent clipping (I did my horse on my own and had to have breaks when doing his head) and I would clip him 2/3 times an autumn/winter varying from trace/blanket and hunter clips. I only got rid as don't have a horse to clip now

Why did you end up doing half with trimmers ??? I've had lister liberty s for a few years, mine are really good, quick and easy to use. The cable is a bit hard to plug in but you need to hold down the little catch. Just re-done my chap today, 45 mins for full clip.

I had a feeling it might just be me as I got them in the first place because so many people recommended them!
I charged them the night before and to be fair, the battery lasted brilliantly. It was still going strong when I finished. I used the trimmers because I was getting such an uneven finish with the clippers and kept having to go over and over the same bits, holding every little bit of skin perfectly flat. They also seemed to only want to clip if perfectly in line with the hair - a little off with the angle and it was hopeless. I just didn't get that 'hot knife through butter' feel I'm used to. Maybe the angle of the blades is slightly different to what I'm used to, or like I say I'm just expecting too much. Hopefully I'll get better with practice!

OP did you tension the blades correctly (tighten till they won't go any further, then release 1.5 turns, oil in little holes on top and along the blades?
I have the Libertys and would use nothing else. Love them!

What are you clipping? Some clippers especially battery ones lack sufficient power to plow through my cobs full winter coat easily. I have to do the first clip by end October to have any chance at all then keep on top of the regrowth. Bath before the first clip and spend the rest of winter furiously body brushing him because too much grease or dirt and the blades will not go through.

I have had my Lister Liberty clippers for nearly five years and they clip perfectly! I love them so much. I had the Heineger progress before and they were rubbish!

I've had mine a year and just had them serviced and they aren't that great. They struggle on thicker hair which is silky clean and dry where I think they should be able to shoot through.

I got some last year after reading great reviews. Ive found the finish is good but they run hot and the battery died towards the end. Have to say my old Moser Avalon does everybit as good a job and the battery lasts forever. I wish there was a battery full light for when charging as I never know how long to charge them for. I did charge overnight the first time.
