Lister Star or Heiniger Progress?

Out of those 2 I'd probably choose the lister star because I think they are more like proper clippers? I have some Heiniger xperience clippers and they are simply awesome, but a bit more expensive. I've previously had lister neons (forerunner to star) and lister Liberty but generally I've found lister to run hot.

If you can save up a bit more for the xperience you won't regret it. They are just so much more powerful than the lister stars. They whizz through the coat and barely get warm, whereas the listers, even my liberties, I had to keep stopping and letting them cool down.

My friend has the Lister star, and they get hot really quickly. I have no experience with the Heiniger Progress, but I do have the Heiniger Xplorer, and would rate them over the Lister Star.

Hmm, that was my worry with the lister is that I had read about them becoming hot quickly. Sadly can't stretch to the more expensive Heinigers... Horses need clipping asap as it is coming into winter here :(
Other choice I was looking at was the And is AGC Super 2's with the T-84 blade which apparently is good for body clipping, but I am a little skeptical. I could also do the Wahl KM2's or 10's?
I am probably doing 10 clips max a season at the moment

I have the Lister's and they do get hot in comparison to YOs Heinigers- I couldn't stretch to them in my moment of need, however (YO offered to lend his, but having borrowed from someone before and had them break on me, its not something I wanted to do again).

I still like them though, I just allow enough time and stop regularly (tea break!) so they don't get to the point where they'll take ages to cool. I suppose if the horse/pony isn't great with being clipped they probably aren't the greatest choice. Have also had excellent service from Lister when getting serviced/sharpened.

I have the heiniger progress had them about 12 years and I really can't fault them I have clipped all kinds of horses with them and always get a good finish, I only use the heiniger blades not the cheap copies that are around though, I have used a few other named clippers belonging to other people and I can honestly say I much prefer mine over any of them.

Ive got lister stars and 'handy horse ' which is a copy of heineger - lister stars get hot in about 5 mins it's ridiculous. I would never recommend them and really sorry i didnt just take them back to the shop immediately. The heineger copy are amazing, go through cob feathers like butter never get hot and are relatively quiet

I have had my Heiniger Progress for about 7 years now. Can't fault them, they are very hard wearing. currently use them to clip my fine coated TB and the two shetlands - just need to switch blades. They don't get too hot, and I have noticed they are much quieter then any others I have heard running.
