Just a quick update as i should be doing portfolio work
and also told Bangagin i would update last weekend
Horse share is going pretty well minus an altercation with yard owner (all sorted now) and a mishap with the fields
Sadie is lovely though, real sweet mare in and out of the stable and is nicely school so is teaching me lots! Had some steering issues to begin with although this is better now (i have a tendancy to turn my body to the right so often ended up walking into the fence on the left rein
) Main issue i need to work on now is the canter to trot transitions. Shes often quite on the forhand and as we go back to trot i think i'm tensing (as i often do, bad habit trying to get out of!) and she starts rushing thinking i'm asking for canter again. Think i need to work on the half halts but any advice appreciated
Getting one of those 101 schooling ideas books soon.
Only been able to do some schooling so far as its always been dark by the time i get there and a bit scared to jump on my own, plus havn't jumped in aggges!
Hopefully will do some clinics with her soon and do some jumping as apparently shes quite talented (she has a habit of escaping fields by popping over the odd 5 bar gate from trot
)
Anyways here are some pics
before she was clipped a few weeks ago
After her clip, as you can see she is an odd colour and you can only see the darker patches under her coat, and she has some brown 'fleabitten' bits aswell, but at first glance before the clip you'd think she was grey/white
No ridden pics yet as can't persuade very unhorsey housemates to come with
Also found out today that i'm going to be in the uni team again as they cannot find anyone (as in hardly anyone tried out). Strange i thought as there must be loads of good riders out there at the uni! I'll have to take days off work the the comps though but luckily trainings now in the evenings so can at least get some cheap lessons. And riding sadie twice a week will hopefully be great practise and i might even improve on last year
wine gums if you got this far
