I’m not sure she will ever set the world on fire with her sheep work but she’s very sweet and has fitted in with my pack as an active companion no bother. I’m going to keep taking her to sheep for the time-being but she gets distracted easily and has taken to peeling one off and hanging on to it’s wool as it drags her down the field ? so I’ve asked my OH if he could make me a round pen (something he’s never really needed or used) so I can at least protect the sheep more easily and everything is contained in a smaller area. I think she will definitely work but it’s unlikely we will be attending any sheepdog trials in the near future ?

She’s very pretty though ?

Just an update. I did consider changing her name as Cookie is not a name I’d ever choose (I like more traditional sheepdog names) but she knows it and so it’ll stay. I tend to shorten it to just Cooks.
I gave her a break from sheep and just spent time polishing up her general obedience and getting to know her. She fits in very well with my two GSDs and they generally just ignore her 😂. We took her to the training sheep again last week and she was much more engaged, so there is hope. She’s very wide off her sheep at the moment which is partly her breeding but I’m hoping she’ll tighten up a bit with time and further training. She loves coming on long walks and makes a lovely hiking companion.
I was told of a vet couple who were looking for a young collie and I briefly considered meeting them to see whether they would be a good fit for her but in the end decided I just can’t part with her.
