I have finally managed to pluck up the courage and enter my first dressage comp in over 20 years. Just going to do a little intro test to see how my nerves go.

Question is what do I do with the coblets mane. He is not hogged and his mane is pulled but is quite long and not at the point where I could plait it.

What do I do? Thanks for any replies.

you don't need to do anything, just make sure he is neatly turned out and leave unplaited if you wish. good luck!!

Thanks Lochpearl. I have OCD when it comes to making sure he is well turned out so we should be OK.

Now to sort the nerves out.........

I've got my first DR in 4 years so I know how you feel :S even though yours is worse because it's been longer. I've got a welsh D and am leaving her unplaited.

Well, at least you will have a long time to practice and learn your test...!! hehe

Is is long enough to arab/running plait? I love the look of those on cobs! I usually leave my boy unplaited for dressage (although I have plaited up my Dad's warmblood before, he suits it far better!), he's got a really wild mane (half of which has been rubbed out over winter!), so I usually just try and pull it and make it as neat as I can and go like that. Hope you have fun! :)
